UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators and EEA Launch the Sustainability Alliance for SMEs





In the presence of H.H. Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators and the Emirates Entrepreneurship Association launched the Sustainability Alliance aimed at promoting sustainable practices and increasing engagement in climate action among small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

The launch took place during COP28, where the official signing was conducted by H.H. Sheikha Shamma bint Sultan bin Khalifa Al Nahyan, President and CEO of the UAE Independent Climate Change Accelerators, and H.E. Sanad Al Meqbali, Chairman of the Emirates Entrepreneurship Association.

Following the signing, H.H. Sheikha Shamma delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the importance of the alliance, the need to strengthen the enabling environment for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and the future plans for the alliance. She praised the efforts of the Emirates Entrepreneurship Association and stressed the value of collaboration in ensuring the alliance’s success.

The primary objective of the Sustainability Alliance is to promote responsible and sustainable business practices among MSMEs operating in the UAE. The alliance will also focus on capacity-building and supporting SMEs in adopting sustainable business models and actively participating in climate action efforts.
